NOTICE OF RACE AND SPECIAL SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

1 - Rules

These instructions shall be read in conjunction with the PCC General Sailing Instructions. If there is any conflict between these and the General Sailing Instructions then these instructions shall take precedence. Any Notices to competitors (see General Sailing Instruction 8) will take precedence over both these and the General Sailing Instructions.

2 - Eligibility

Boats entering this race shall have current registration with YNZ and must display their correct registration numbers on sails in accordance with the Rules of Sailing. This Series is open to all vessels which comply with the clauses of this Notice of race.

All Skippers Must Wear an Approved Lifejacket Whilst Underway. Skippers Must Carry on Their Person the Means to Self-Initiate a Rescue in the Event they Fall Overboard While Underway

One person only permitted on board while racing.

Race Entry Fees must have been received by the Ponsonby Cruising Club no later than 1300hrs Fri. 6th October 2022. All entries must include a contact number registered with PCC.

All entries will be eligible for AMARE SPONSORED PRIZES.

Weekend only Entry Fees for the 2 races:

Members $40.00 / Non-members $60 to be paid to the PCC office or via www.pcc.org.nz.

4 - Start times and Divisions:

White flag – Open Division

Yellow flag – No extra division

5 - Courses and Racing Area

The course on Day 1 will be displayed on the Tower by a course board

The course on Day 2 will be displayed on PCC patrol boat 'Watchman' by way of a Numeral Flag.

Day 1 start will be between the Westhaven Tower and the Westhaven Yellow ODM.

Day 1 will finish off the entrance to GHM between the PCC patrol boat 'Watchman' and a laid mark.

Day 2 start will be between a laid mark and the PCC patrol boat 'Watchman' in the area just off Gulf Harbour Marina.

Day 2 will finish between the West Haven tower and the Yellow ODM.

6 – Finishing at Gulf Harbour

Please observe instructions from the patrol Boat on finishing with regards to berthing arrangements at Gulf Harbour Marina. Listen on VHF 77 for instructions and updates after you finish and have sails down.

Berths will be available at Gulf Harbour Marina. Cost will be 10.5m $33 per night and 12m $40 per night 

7 - Time Limits

The time limit shall be at the discretion of the Race Officer but no more than 5 hours.

8 - Scoring

Series Scores will be as per the Single-Handed Series scoring system.

9 - Prize giving and prizes

Race 1: At Gulf Harbour Yacht Club not prior to 1600hrs. Boats must be present to collect prizes.

Race 2: Prize giving to be in the PCC clubrooms at 1630hrs on Sunday the 8th October.

The GHYC will have food available for us on Saturday.

ANY BOAT THAT WITHDRAWS OR GOES SIGNIFICANTLY OFF COURSE FOR ANY REASON IS TO CONTACT RACE MANAGEMENT ASAP BY PHONE OR TXT.

Entrants participate entirely at their own risk as per ISAF Rule 4. It is entirely up to the individual skipper to decide if they start and/or continue to race. The Organising Authority/s and/or Sponsors will not accept any liability for the material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the events.
